We are very concerned about the protection and respect of your personal data. We ask you only for information that we consider to be unharmful and useful to share. However, it is your personal decision to allow the publication of personal information on the website. Your name, college, university email address and academic status are the only information required for registration in UniYu. To become a member and/or use our service, users must be currently or formerly enrolled at a university listed by the UniYu administration. Thus, each registered person to UniYu services must have a university email address corresponding to his/her identity, and granted in due form by his/her university, and thus prove his/her university membership.
2.1 UniYu (hereinafter "UniYu") is a website support network for college students which is owned technology by UniYu. In these Terms & Conditions of UniYu (hereinafter referred to as "Terms") "you", "member", "members" and "user" refer to the legal owner and/or the permanent user of the email address used to join UniYu. This website is hereinafter referred as "site", "service", "services", "us". The terms "account", "profile" and "personal profile" are used interchangeably in our Terms.
2.2 In browsing this website and/or becoming a member of our service, all user agree to read, understand, accept and then comply with all conditions listed in our Terms.
2.3 Our Terms determine our mutual obligations in connection with the use of our service. It is the responsibility of the member to keep his/her access codes to our service (e-mail address and password) confidential.
2.4 If the member has reason to believe that his/her account is not secured anymore, the member must, as soon as possible, change his/her password. The member is solely responsible for his/her account and all communications and actions taken with it.
3.1 To become a member and/or use our service, all users must be enrolled as members of a university. When becoming a member, the user acknowledges being the holder of a university email address granted by the university. This valid university email address, granted by the university administration and approved by UniYu is needed to create a profile, become a member and use our service. If the email address used to register for our service is no longer valid, access to our service will be invalid. We use the current academic email address to communicate with the member.
3.2 Any university members cannot access the service. It is first necessary that the UniYu administration validates the university where the applicant studies before this applicant becomes a UniYu member.
3.3 The administration of UniYu reserves the right to create some fictitious account, temporarily, only for the following reasons: testing and maintenance of the site, study of different features, to give a visit to a journalist, a blogger, or a special guest whose sole purpose is to visit the site for a purpose approved by the UniYu administration and not to check members data.
3.4 Access to the use of UniYu service is free. Under no circumstances should the UniYu administration or a member transfer or sell a / his/her account, email address and password to a third party.
4.1 The profile of a registered member belongs to him alone and should be used exclusively to his own use.
4.2 A member shall only not have one profile. We reserve the right to delete any profile if the pre-registration information seems false.
4.3 At registration, the member shall state his/her real first name and his/her real last name. It is not possible to change it later.
5.1 To access our service, the member is asked to complete a personal profile. All information must be truthful, accurate and complete. It is the responsibility of the member to keep this information up to date.
6.1 For every vote, every comment and every view expressed on this site, the member agrees to account for his/her personal opinion, with sincerity, honesty and moderation for the sole purpose of informing and sharing, with no desire to denigrate, to slander or insult any individual, institution or group of people.
6.2 The member is personally responsible for the language used and content on the site that he/she disseminates and shares with others. All his/her trade need to be respectful and should in no case violate the law.
6.3 The member may use the service for the sole purpose of selling their own used books. The price should reflect the obsolescence of the book. The member is personally responsible to claim the condition of the book and a price which is the fair value of the book.
6.4 The member may use the service to purchase books for the sole purpose of personal use. It is the member's responsibility to personally verify the condition of the book before confirming their willingness to accept the purchase price indicated by the seller.
6.5 In any case, we cannot be held responsible for the quality, accuracy, truthfulness, completeness, or usefulness of any content posted by members on the site and between the members themselves.
6.6 In no event shall we be liable for loss or damage of information or other content published on the website or sent to our members.
6.8 Any member is forbidden to impersonate and/or harass another member.
6.9 It is forbidden to transmit any unsolicited mail (chain letters, spam, spam) to other members or employees.
6.10 It is forbidden to attempt to interfere or disrupt our service and/or our servers.
6.11 The member shall not, through our service, send e-mail or otherwise transmit any material that contains viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of software, computers, or equipment telecommunication.
6.12 Any violation of this Code of Conduct may lead to the termination of our services to the member with the removal of all his/her information.
7.1 The content and information you post on UniYu is yours. For content protected by intellectual property rights, such as profile pictures, sheets and course assignments ("intellectual property"), you specifically give us the following permission: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use intellectual property content that you post on or in connection with UniYu ("IP License"). This IP License ends when you delete your IP content or your account unless your account is shared with others who have not deleted.
7.2 It is the responsibility of the member not to disclose, in their personal profile or elsewhere on our service, personal information that could harm their own identity or tranquility: pictures, personal numbers (telephone, cellular), addresses (URL , electronic mail), or any other information that could be used to contact the member directly.
7.3 The profiles of each member are public and some information will remain visible to all members of UniYu (name, surname, grad, university).
7.4 All comments and messages on all UniYu by the member will be visible to all members of UniYu.
7.5 Any conduct or attempt to destroy the security and confidentiality of any member is prohibited.
7.6 The email addresses of our members will only serve the purpose of correspondence and communication between members and our service. In all these cases, e-mail addresses will remain confidential and will never be rented or sold to third parties.
7.7 We reserve the right at any time to access the accounts of our members for the following purposes: Complaint of another member, suspected of embezzlement and verification in case of technical problems. Such transactions are used to ensure the improvement of our service or the protection of our members.
7.8 Any notes or homework uploaded to UniYu and not deleted before a user removes his/her account is property of UniYu.
8.1 Any total or partial reproduction of our service is prohibited. We own all copyrights and ownership of text, logos and all other material on the site (published or produced by us).
8.2 All courses or homework sheets distributed by a member of UniYu shall in no case violate the laws of intellectual property. It is prohibited to publish, share or exchange information that is protected or plagiarized without mention of the author and the original work.
8.3 Members may not distribute or reproduce in any way, any material protected by copyrights, trademarks, or other proprietary information legally without obtaining the prior consent of the owner such proprietary rights. It is the responsibility of the member to decide when and to whom it gives its personal information or material. We will not be held responsible for any misuse of such personal information or material that the member has sent to other members.
8.4 It is prohibited to remove or edit our communications identifiers to disguise the origin of information transmitted through our service. Members may not remove copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices contained in our service.
8.5 Members may not modify, adapt, translate, sell, give, sublicense, decompile or disassemble any part of our service or any software used on or for our service.
8.6 It is forbidden to use metatags, codes, scripts or other items referring to our service in order to lead our Internet traffic to another site.
8.7 Our service may contain links to other Internet sites or resources. We do not control, do not agree or do not check these websites. The Member acknowledges and accepts that we cannot be held responsible for the legality, accuracy or nature of any content, advertising, products, services or information placed on these websites.
8.8 The member grants and certifies that it has the right to grant us an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted and without charge to use, reproduce, transmit, modify or distribute contributions, content or material that the member published and publicly available on our left service.
8.9 The rules of your university will prevail. It is forbidden to share on UniYu a document considered as confidential by your university (ie. Future exam, a stolen document, etc.) Make sure you always respect the rules of your university, especially those governing plagiarism, before sharing and using documents on UniYu.
9.1 Any member may, upon request and in accordance with law, be obliged to cooperate actively with our service and the judiciary in the case of violations or to prevent violation of the law. We have the right to disseminate information to the legal authorities and/or to third parties for any member, directly or personally involved in violations of the law, to assist in their investigations. According to the law, we will cooperate with legal authorities and disclose the identity of any member suspected of violating any provision of our TOS.
10.2 The member is solely responsible for its own equipment, its installation and other necessary arrangements specified on our website. We reserve the right to add, modify, limit or discontinue the use of all or any part of our service at any time and without notice.
11.1 It is possible that members may publish, send or transmit words or offensive material and/or obscene information about our service and those other members can be involuntarily exposed. It is also possible that some members, due to the use of our service, obtain personal information about other members and these members use this information to injure or harass them. Every member understands and accepts that we are not responsible for the interactions between members and/or personal information they choose to share through our service.
11.2 Any member must carefully select the type of information it publishes through our service or sends to other members. We recall that the use of our service is the risk of the member. In case of abuse, we invite our members to contact us immediately (email@example.com).
11.3 Under no circumstances should we be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential, arising from the use or inability to use our service even though we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11.4 The Member remains fully responsible for the content and/or materials that it publishes through our service.
11.5 The member agrees not to hold UniYu responsible for things other users post or do. We do not guarantee the accuracy of postings or user communications or the quality, safety, or legality of what is offered. We also cannot guarantee continuous or secure access to our services. Accordingly, to the extent legally permitted we expressly disclaim all warranties, representations and conditions, express or implied, including those of quality, merchantability, merchantable quality, durability, fitness for a particular purpose and those arising by statute. We are not liable for any loss, whether of money (including profit), goodwill, or reputation, or any special, indirect, or consequential damages arising out of your use of UniYu.
12.1 We offer our services as explained on the site and make no warranty of any kind. We mention explicitly our refusal to offer any guarantee of profitability or particularly effectively. We do not guarantee that using our service will be secure, uninterrupted, error-free and always available, or will meet expectations. We assume no responsibility for the telephone service provider and the Internet, including coverage, distance, or any interruption of services.
13.3 We reserve the right to remove without notice any account of any member not complying with our TOS. Anyone violating our C.G.U. may face legal action.
15.1 In addition to the rules and laws, members of UniYu are subject to powerful and irreducible principle of good spirit which is the main thing in common that unite and bring together university students here in Montreal, Sherbrooke, Toronto and soon elsewhere.
